•The expression of STEAP1 was up-regulated in osteosarcoma tissues, which positively correlated with the malignant phenotype of osteosarcoma and poor prognosis of patients.•EFEMP1 could bind to STEAP1 to activate the Wnt/β-catenin and TGF-β/Smad2/3 signaling pathways and induce EMT to promote the progression of osteosarcoma.
