Nano particle/microsphere TiO 2 /BiOBr Z-scheme heterojunction with high visible-light photocatalytic activity in tetracycline hydrochloride degradation

Nano particle/microsphere TiO 2 /BiOBr Z-scheme heterojunction is synthesized through an ionic-liquid-hydrothermal method. Flower-like BiOBr are firstly synthesized by an ionic liquid method. Then TiO 2 nanoparticles are constructed on BiOBr microspheres through hydrothermal method. The photocatalytic performance of TiO 2 /BiOBr heterojunction was much better than that of BiOBr or TiO 2 . 79.33% of tetracycline hydrochloride (TC) is degraded which is 2.23 times and 1.15 times that of the pure BiOBr and TiO 2 , respectively. Physical and chemical property of the TiO 2 /BiOBr heterojunctions with varied amount of TiO 2 are analyzed by XRD, XPS, FE-SEM, TEM, HRTEM, BET and DRS et. al. The photocatalytic mechanism is also proposed.
