Entropy and exergy analysis of the steam jet condensation in crossflow of subcooled water

•Entropy and exergy are used to study the interaction of jet plume with water flow.•Two-phase heat transfer occurs mainly in four regions in the plume cross-section.•Water temperature and steam mass flux has obviously influence on entropy and exergy.•Most energy dissipation occurs between the maximum velocity area and jet tail.
