摘要
•Human resistin induces mitochondrial dysfunction by inducing abnormal mitochondrial fission.•Resistin-CAP1 complex is transported to mitochondria, augmenting mitochondria-associated ER membrane (MAM) formation.•Resistin induces up-regulation of PKA pathway, inducing phosphorylation of Drp1 at serine 616 and subsequent mitochondrial fission.•Resistin-CAP1 axis could regulate mitochondrial function in animal models of obesity.
