摘要
•Smoking tends to negatively impact the non-surgical mechanical debridement in periimplantitis.•CAP-mediated aPDT helped to improve clinical outcomes among peri‑implantitis patients among smokers.•CAP-mediated aPDT reduced the proinflammatory burden in the periimplant space.•The mechanism of CAP-mediated aPDT could be explained by increased proliferation of the fibroblastic cells in conjunction with increased deposition of the extra-cellular matrix.
