摘要
The primary goal of this study is to develop and deploy a software solution that will allow us to calculate the position of a particle inside a neutron detector when only time information is available. Because the neutron detector is rarely used as a position detector, obtaining position accuracy at the quadrant level in most cases is sufficient. Firstly the simulated data is created as a grid of particle track intersection points with neutron detector. Then the reconstruction program is tested on this data. The signal’s propagation time is estimated using the assumption of constant speed. The algorithm is then tested on experimental data. It is found that experimental events are reproduced reasonably after running the reconstruction program. The sources of possible deviations are discussed.
