摘要
•Simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplantation continues to be a demanding procedure because of the high morbidity rates and potential pancreatic graft loss.•Intestinal complications related to simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplantation are not well documented, and comparison between series is difficult owing to the great variability of techniques used among the different groups.•Complications of enteric drainage can be as high as 20% and include anastomotic leak, intra-abdominal infection, duodenal ischaemia, and obstruction.•The ileus is the site of most frequent early intestinal complication, and repeated intestinal obstructions are the most common late intestinal complication.•Intestinal complications have been previously related to vascular thrombosis as a risk factor for the viability of pancreatic grafts, but this relation was not observed in our study.
