Comprehensive modified approaches to reducing the interference of moisture from an FTIR spectrum and the corresponding second derivative spectrum

•A novel approach to suppress the interference of moisture from IR spectra is proposed.•Double-fitting is adopted to correct the deviation related to temperature fluctuation.•2D spectrum is generated via the 2nd/3rd derivative spectra to remove baseline drift.•The efforts suppress the interference from IR spectrum and 2nd derivative spectra.•The new approach has been tested on two real-world examples.
