Design and Analysis of a Wideband Microstrip 3 dB Power Divider

In this study, the design and analysis of a -3 dB wideband microstrip power divider is investigated. Power divider is used for devices with tight coupling and provide half the input power at each of its output ports. It consists of three ports for power combining and all the changes are obtained within 0 - 3.5 GHz frequency range. Simulation is done using Sonnet Suites, a 3D Planar electromagnetic simulation software using a computational analysis based on Method of Moments (MoM). Theoretical and parametric studies describing the performance of the divider are presented and discussed. Findings from this simulation and analysis will be further used for fabrication stage.
