Electrooxidative Dehydrogenative Coupling of 1,4-Naphthoquinones with Amines: Facile Access to 2-Amino-1,4-naphthoquinones

A mild, external oxidant- and transition-metal-free electrooxidative dehydrogenative coupling of 1,4naphthoquinone with amines involving C(sp2)-H functionalization to give 2-amino-1,4-naphthoquinones has been developed. This method efficiently enables the construction of the C(sp2)-N bonds to produce 2amino-1,4-naphthoquinones in moderate to excellent yields with excellent selectivity and broad substrate scope.
