•Efficient conversion of LC-CBM is achieved by an integrated SOFC reactor.•An improvement of performance from 904 to 1208 mW cm−2 is obtained.•Methane conversion efficiency is increased from 23.59% to 43.22 %.•Integrated SOFC reactor exhibits a robust coking tolerance.
