•AIE-based turn-on sensing system for dual detection of Cu2+ and ascorbate ions.•A propargyl-TPE tags with MCM-41 by “click reaction” to device the sensing system.•Highly sensitive detection due to solid-supported enhancement of AIE-effect.•LOD as low as 0.6 ppb for Cu(II) and 1.8 ppb for ascorbate.
