Quantum information processing with semiconductor quantum dots

Individual electron spins in semiconductor quantum dots are a leading platform for quantum computing, because they have extremely long coherence times and are compatible with advanced semiconductor manufacturing techniques. In this talk, I will describe how one can create, manipulate, and measure qubits based on electron spins in quantum dots (Fig. 1). I will review some of the exciting advances that have occurred in this field over the past few years, and I will discuss some promising future directions.
