Design of digital Arduino based sensor for safety belt tensioning in automotive transferring using LabVIEW

摘要
Safe driving, in a fast-moving world, is a must for the life of any person. Cars and means of transport in general, are evolving to be more efficient, easy to use and user friendly more than ever before and this is happening on an extraordinary rate. But what about driver safety? The safety of the driver is depended, almost exclusively on the airbags and the seat belt which in both cases a measure is triggered upon impact or an intense acceleration of the car or more specifically the driver’s body. Studies have shown that when these safety measures are used the injury and fatality rates lessen. However, there are cases where, the design of the above (in this paper we are talking only about the seatbelt) can be “sacrificing” from the user friendly and easy to use features that were previously mentioned on a car. So, in this paper, an Arduino based system implemented on LabVIEW is proposed as a solution.
