Using artificial intelligence techniques to support clinical decisions in perioperative medicine

In recent years, thanks to digitalization in healthcare, large amounts of data have become available. With Artificial Intelligence techniques, these data can provide not only useful information, but also intelligent tools to support clinical decisions. This phenomenon is also occurring in perioperative medicine. The immediate postoperative period could benefit from the use of continuous monitoring associated with real-time predictive models with the aim of identifying complications early and starting treatment maneuvers as soon as possible. However, studies are needed to explore the actual benefit of using these technologies in perioperative medicine.
