摘要

Recent activities regarding the densification of optical cables are reviewed. The fabrication results for a 1728-fiber cable with 160-f.1m-coating single-core fibers and a 288-fiber cable with 200-um-coating four-core fibers demonstrate the possibility for commercial use.
