Distribution pattern and change prediction of Saposhnikovia divaricata suitable area in China under climate change

•Distribution of S. divaricata depends on temperature and precipitation seasonality, elevation, isothermally.•The suitable area of S. divaricata were mainly located in Northeast and North China.•The priority planting and wild tending regions of S. divaricata were identified.•Under the climate change, the suitable area of S. divaricata will be increased.•The migration of suitable area will tend to be high latitude in the future.
