Functional Trachea Reconstruction The development of a novel strategy for 3D bioprinting of trachea based on designable tissue-specific bioinks with chondrogenic and fibrogenic/angiogenic microenvironments, is reported in article number 2202181 by Yujie Hua, Yu Shrike Zhang, Guangdong Zhou, and co-workers. The 3D-bioprinted trachea-analogue successfully regenerates cartilage-vascularized fibrous tissue-alternant architecture with biomimetic mechanical and physiological characteristics close to those of the native trachea and realizes in situ functional trachea reconstruction.
