Toothbrush Oropharyngeal Impalement With Spinal Canal Compromise: 2-Dimensional Operative Video.

We provide a rare case of a patient who suffered oropharyngeal toothbrush impalement, resulting in spinal canal compromise at the C2-C3 level. This operative video includes discussion of technical nuances and step by step management of this complicated case, ultimately resulting in a combined neurosurgery and otolaryngology two-stage approach for safe and successful foreign body removal. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case to be described in the literature.1-4 The patient gave informed consent for the procedure and video recording. There is no identifying information in this video. Institutional review board approval was deemed unnecessary. The patient consented to the publication of his image.
