Solvating power regulation enabled low concentration electrolyte for lithium batteries

摘要
An FEC based low-concentration electrolyte with merely 0.25 mol/L lithium salt is prepared and exhibit satisfying performance in LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2||lithium cells. Li+ solvation structure is deciphered by both experiment and simulation. It proves that the relatively low solvating power of FEC renders reduced desolvation energy to Li+, which is of vital importance for the battery kinetics.
