Abstract
Reversible, nonvolatile, and pronounced refractive index modulation (0.5<∆n<3.5, 0<∆k<2.5) is an unprecedented combination of properties enabled by chalcogenide phase-change materials. From integrated phase and amplitude modulators to photonic in-memory computing cells, metasurfaces, and wavelength filters, these materials represent a fast-growing platform for active, low-energy nanophotonics.
