Performance Analysis of Various Routing Algorithms on Different Wimax Networks

Today, we need communication between users that are spread over a large area. Wimax stands for Microwave Access Worldwide Interoperability and can meet this requirement compared to other existing technologies such as WiFi and LTE. Wimax works on both homogeneous and heterogeneous networks. This document provides a comparison of routing and security aspects used in similar and heterogeneous Wimax networks. The aim of this paper is to discuss working of some routing algorithms such as proactive, reactive and hybrid with complete explanation about varieties of security algorithms such as synchronous and asynchronous which are useful for both homogenous and heterogeneous networks of WiMax. The performance analysis is done on homogenous and heterogeneous WiMax networks with different routing algorithms and security algorithms in terms of Throughput, End to End delay, Jitter. The Performance analysis results demonstrate that WiMax-Wimax (homogenous networks) provides maximum throughput as compared to other heterogenous combinations such as WiMax-UMTS, WiMax-WiFi. But, on the point of view of less end to end delay, Wimax with Wi-Fi shows better results than others.
