Complete capsulectomy has been proposed to reduce the risk of reinfection in patients with cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) infection after transvenous lead extraction (TLE). However, it is time consuming and requires extensive tissue debridement with a potentially higher risk of hematoma formation.
