摘要
Suicide is the second leading cause of death in adolescents in the United States. Sleep disturbances are known risk factors for suicide ideation and behaviors. However, links between nightmares and suicide risk are understudied, especially in adolescents. Nightmares in relation to trauma and PTSD symptoms have been examined extensively, but work on the connection between nightmares and suicide risk, beyond the impact of trauma, is limited. The current study examined associations between sleep disturbances (ie, sleep quality and nightmares) and suicide ideation in a clinical sample of adolescents.
