3.21 A New Objective Diagnostic Tool for ADHD: Development of the Web-Based Auditory-Focused Continuous Performance Test

ADHD is a neuropsychiatric disorder that begins in childhood and is characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that are incompatible with the age of the person. When taking into consideration the differences in the causes and behavioral consequences of ADHD, there is no single test used to diagnose the disorder, and the clinician’s opinion is currently the most widely accepted diagnostic method. On the other hand, decision support systems currently greatly facilitate the diagnosis process of the clinician and play an active role in the decision process. The aim of this pilot study is to develop the newly web-based auditory-focused distractor continuous performance test (ad-CPT) to aid in the diagnosis of ADHD in children aged 6 to 12 years.
