13.1 Setting the Stage: Overview of Tourette's Disorder

Tourette’s disorder (TD) is a childhood-onset neuropsychiatric condition characterized by motor and vocal tics that persist for at least 1 year. The objective of this presentation is to provide an overview of TD, including approaches to the assessment and management of TD based on recent guidelines. This overview sets the stage for the subsequent presentations that focus on specific “hot topics” in the TD literature.
