“I just needed someone to believe in me.” A qualitative analysis of youths’ experiencing homelessness perspectives of a housing first intervention

•Youth experiencing homelessness reported an increased sense of stability after being housed.•Flexible and strength based advocacy services provided in addition to housing support were well-received.•Youth perceived the housing first intervention positively and self-reported improvements in their lives.
