摘要

•Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in drinking water of Nepal were surveyed.•Concentration of ARGs was higher in shallow wells compared to other source types.•Drinking water treatment plants studied do not eliminate ARGs.•Low free chlorine level in treated water prior to pipeline distribution was noted.•One tanker filling station sample negative for E. coli was positive for blaCTX−M.
