•Novel terpene-based monomers: nopinyl (meth)acrylate from abundant β-pinene.•High Tg for poly(nopinyl methacrylate) from free radical polymerisation.•Well-defined homo- and block-polymers produced via RAFT polymerisation.•ABA triblock copolymers also incorporating a low Tg renewable soft block.•Separation behaviour and adhesive properties of these copolymers were investigated.
