Developing two thiocarbohydrazide modified glucose derivatives as high-efficiency green corrosion inhibitors for carbon steel
Industrial Crops and Products(2022)
摘要
Glucose could be derived from the hydrolysis of polysaccharide starch, which is rich in various crops, such as corn, wheat, rice and potatoes. As a cheap natural biomolecule, glucose has great potential as green corrosion inhibitor. In the present study, two thiocarbohydrazide modified glucose derivatives (TBTD-1 and TBTD-2) were developed via N-glycosylic linkage, and used as green corrosion inhibitors to prevent the corrosion of carbon steel pipelines in oil and gas industry. Both TBTD-1 and TBTD-2 exhibit outstanding inhibitive effect with an inhibition efficiency of 99.1 % for TBTD-1 and 99.4 % for TBTD-2, which are far more than other carbohydrates corrosion inhibitors reported in the literature. Meanwhile, theoretical calculations were conducted to further reveal the interfacial adsorption mechanism of TBTD-1 and TBTD-2 molecules on carbon steel surface in the aqueous environment.
