•An original kinetic model for a PS/VGO mixture hydrocracking has been developed.•The reaction network, based on VGO hydrocracking, also considers PS as a reactant.•Catalytic deactivation by PS fouling, coke and metals poisoning has been quantified.•Coke deposition is the main cause of the catalyst deactivation.•At 400 °C and 180 min, PS conversion is full and naphtha yield is a 34 wt%
