•Electron energy-loss magnetic chiral dichroism measured using semi-core spectroscopy.•Magnetic moments of the neighboring Fe-Pt pair were parallel for LI0 type FePt network film.•A unique method to evaluate magnetic structures at the nanometric scale is provided.
