Spin-ice behavior of mixed pyrochlore Dy2GaSbO7 exhibiting enhanced Pauling zero-point entropy

摘要
•DC magnetization, ac susceptibility, and heat capacity experiments of pyrochlore Dy2GaSbO7.•Crystal-field + mean-field approximation model taking long-range dipolar interactions and anisotropic exchange interactions enables to interpret dc susceptibility data.•Freezing of spins at 3.13 K indicating spin-ice configuration.•Zero-point entropy of Dy2GaSbO7 is larger than Pauling zero-point entropy for ‘2-in, 2-out’ spin configuration. The enhanced entropy is due to random chemical disorder of Ga and Sb ions.
