摘要
Small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (SCNEC) is an aggressive high-grade neuroendocrine malignancy with high metastatic potential and poor clinical outcomes. Metastatic SCNEC of the mandible is an extremely rare condition, and a few cases have been reported in the English literature. We present a case of the metastatic SCNEC found in a 68 years-old Japanese male with smoking history. The legion resembled dentigerous cyst of the mandibular third molar. The pathological examination revealed the metastatic SCNEC of the mandible originating from the lung. The patient underwent chemotherapy and died 15 months after the initial diagnosis.
