摘要

•Fundamental mechanics of the R2G adhesion with shape memory polymer (SMP).•R2G adhesion refers to contact in rubbery state and detach in glassy state of SMP.•Shape locking effect governs the large enhancement of the R2G adhesion.•R2G adhesion resembles the flat-punch adhesion with the same contact radius.•An explicit expression of the R2G pull-off force is proposed based on flat-punch adhesion.
