Experimental Study on the Mix Proportion of Self-Heating Grouting Materials in Alpine Regions

•A self-heating cement-based grouting material is proposed.•A silane coupling agent is adopted to modify the calcium oxide in the grouting material.•The proposed grouting material exhibits excellent mechanical properties under a hostile temperature environment.•An exothermic test investigates the heat release principle of the proposed grouting material.•The mechanical properties and system temperature change of the self-heating grouting material are investigated.
