Performance Comparison of Various SPV Module Connections in Partial Shading Conditions

A PV cell can convert solar energy into electrical energy by taking solar irradiation and atmospheric temperature as inputs, thereby converting into electrical energy. The solar radiation is not constant at all conditions due to atmospheric changes and other factors. Under these conditions solar panel cannot produce the maximum power. To obtain the maximum power from the solar panels under these conditions different configurations have been proposed. The main reason for the drop of maximum power is partial shading conditions, so to obtain the maximum power under these conditions we are going to simulate all the different configurations like Series, Series-Parallel, TCT, BL, HCin MATLAB Simulink software and comparing the results by calculating efficiency, fill factor, maximum power and concluding the best configuration under different partial shading conditions. The partial shading conditions we use in this is, Center shading, Diagonal shading, Frame shading, Corner shading, and Random shading. KYOCERA-KC200GT PV module is taken to perform these configurations.
