摘要
Road-embedded inductive power transfer (IPT) systems is a proven technology for wirelessly charging electric vehicles while they are in transit. However, there has been a lack of focus on understanding the mechanical behavior of these systems when subjected to traffic wheel loads. This understanding is crucial in designing durable IPT pads with a similar lifespan to traditional asphalt roads. In this paper, the structural response of a quarter-scale IPT pad is modelled using the finite-element (FE) method. The results of the model were validated through an experimental investigation which focused on the measurement of strain on the brittle ferrite cores.
