Application of molecular docking approach in a novel eco-friendly impurity profiling HPLC-UV method for the simultaneous estimation of ternary hypoglycemic pharmaceutical mixture

•Chromatographic approach was used for the simultaneous estimation of newly approved hypoglycemic combination in presence of metformin toxic impurities.•The method was successfully applied to pharmaceutical formulation.•Validated according to the ICH guidelines & compared to the official methods.•Analytical Greenness calculator, and GAPI systems were used to evaluate the greenness of the chromatographic method.•Molecular docking simulation of melamine was applied to study its toxicity.
