Functional connectivity differences in the amygdala are related to the antidepressant efficacy of ketamine in patients with anxious depression

•Amygdala is linked to ketamine-induced symptom improvement in anxious depression.•Responders show a marked reduction in amygdala connectivity after ketamine infusions.•Amygdala connectivity is lower in anxious depression than in non-anxious depression.
