摘要
•Up to 65.9% of medical students in Lagos, Nigeria were willing to volunteer during the COVID-19 pandemic.•Self-rated good health status, self-rated competence to work as a COVID-19 volunteer and availability of adequate protection and personal protective equipment had significantly increased odds for willingness of medical students to volunteer during the COVID-19 pandemic.•Medical students gave their opinions on the settings in which they can volunteer; thus early involvement of medical students in the appropriate roles and settings during a pandemic is important.
