摘要
Masonry panels are an integral part of construction in most of the low, medium and high rise structures all over the world. The dynamic behaviour of masonry is greatly influenced by the strain rate effects. In the open literature, there are only a few studies which have considered the effect of high strain rates on the dynamic response of masonry. Under the action of high strain loading the material properties of masonry no longer remain the same but, are transformed depending on suitable Dynamic Increase Factor (DIF). The paper aims at proposing a plastic model obeying non-associated flow rule with compressive and tensile stress-strain variation considering the high strain rates and their respective damage parameters. Further, to verify the effectiveness of the proposed model, numerical simulation was conducted to investigate the behaviour of masonry panel subjected to blast loading using Finite Element (FE) code ABAQUS/Explicit. The obtained results were compared with the experimental test data available in the literature and were found to be in good agreement.
