Azimuthal Rotation of Periodic Structure of Linear Defects in Cholesteric Layer under Planar-Conical Boundary Conditions

Electrically induced azimuthal rotation of periodic structure of linear defects formed within cholesteric layer under planar-conical boundary conditions during relaxation from homeotropic state has been studied. It has been shown that when applying a voltage in the range 0 < U < 1.8 V, the periodic structures oriented at different azimuthal angles (within 90 degrees) depending on the field values can be formed.
