The New Submission Process: Making a List and Checking It Twice

We can now celebrate the publishing of three consecutive special issues: the Knee Society, Hip Society, and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons Proceedings. With these under our belt, we would like to describe some of the changes you will find in our submission process beginning in October. We have a tremendously efficient process (in the past two years, the time to first decision has ranged from 19 to 21 days, which is as good as any comparable journal). Nevertheless, changes are being implemented to further increase efficiency and quality of the journal to make the process easier and more encompassing of value metrics for submitting authors, reviewers, and our editorial board.
