The Decoupling Analysis of Radome in mm-Wave Applications

A variable thickness radome (VTR) is proposed for decoupling radar antennas operating at 60 GHz. The VTR can significantly reduce the mutual coupling of antenna elements at the operating frequency by adjusting the amplitude and phase of the reflected wave by about 5 to 20 dB. With the characteristics of not increasing the PCB size, simple design and strong versatility, the proposed VTR has great potential for application in millimeter wave radar systems.
