Case 32: Automated Insulin Infusion System Is Useful to Control Blood Glucose Concentration During Major Stress in Patients With Type 1 Diabetes

The patient is a 54-year-old female with longstanding (37 years) type 1 diabetes complicated by acropathy and nonproliferative retinopathy. For years, her blood glucose control has been suboptimal, with HbA1c ranging from 7.8–8.6% along with hypoglycemia. Seven months prior, she began using the MiniMed 670G to infuse insulin with improved glucose control, as reflected by time in range and HbA1c.
