•Frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) refers to a group of clinical syndromes with different underlying pathologies.•CSF biomarkers have been proposed as diagnostic and prognostic factors•We found a significant relationship between CSF lower p-tau/t-tau ratio and brain atrophy in the early stage of FTLD•Our data suggest that p-tau/t-tau ratio could play a role as prognostic factor in FTLD
