摘要
The traumatic amputation of the nose is an extremely rare injury. Following the first report by James there have only ever been 23 cases reported on PubMed of such an injury. In each of these cases the decision was made to immediately begin the process of replantation. Suddenly and unprepared, every care providing team faces a challenge. In addition, there is a vital surgical indication for replantation under time pressure. We present a dramatic yet ultimately successful case, and in conjunction with the latest literature we describe the possible treatment procedure from transport through to reattachment, as well as the often-necessary salvage measures.
