摘要
Pain is a global public health problem with a great impact on quality of life, becoming one of the most important points to be studied by modern medicine, as it reflects in every context in which the individual is inserted. Thus, studies for the development of drugs for the treatment of pain include medicinal plants. The aim was to verify the phytochemical profile and analgesic activity of ethanolic and hexane extracts from the leaves of Plantago major L., using chromatographic techniques and pain-induced protocols in mice of the species Mus musculus. The open field test was performed to assess the animals' motor activity. The results found for GC-EM for the hexane extract showed 50 compounds and 34 ethanolic compounds of this species, in the HPLC analysis, the ethanolic extract showed the presence of cumaric acid and catechin. The extracts caused a decrease in abdominal contortions in the tested groups compared to the control group. The results presented in the open field test, the groups tested did not show muscle relaxant effect. It can be suggested, then, that the extracts have analgesic action
