Numerical study on the vapor bubble removal by acoustic streaming in downward-facing pool boiling

•Downward-facing pool boiling is numerical studied by coupling phase field method and thermo-viscous acoustic module.•SAW creates vortical flow around boiling bubble and accelerates the bubble detachment.•Vortical flow around boiling bubble keeps the bubble suspended in the liquid.•Vortical flow produces a laterally thrust against the bubble.•SAW can serve as an active method for control and enhancement of boiling heat transfer.
